Here\u2019s how to use it.<\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">How to Block Third-Party Junk Offers<\/h2>\n<ol dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>Open a PowerShell window by typing <strong>PowerShell<\/strong> into the Start Menu. Right-click the entry and choose <strong>Run as administrator<\/strong>, then confirm the prompt.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the following command:\n<pre><code class=\"language-bash\">Set-MpPreference -PUAProtection 1<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">That\u2019s all you have to do to enable automatic junk protection with Windows Defender. You can run this command again with a <strong>0<\/strong> replacing the <strong>1<\/strong> to turn it off anytime.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Now, you\u2019ll have an extra layer of protection from installing unwanted programs. Unlike Unchecky, which detects these checkboxes and automatically unchecks them for you, Windows Defender will step in and quarantine this junk if you accidentally install it.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Windows Defender classifies it as a \u201cpotentially unwanted software.\u201d You can view the history of what it\u2019s blocked by visiting <strong>Settings &gt; Update &amp; Security &gt; Windows Security &gt; Virus &amp; threat protection<\/strong>. Click <strong>Threat history<\/strong> and you\u2019ll see a list under <strong>Quarantined threats<\/strong>.
