The Run mode setting now changes the running application When you set an application to Production or Development mode, the system applies the mode to the application’s container and recreates the container. The change takes effect at once, and does not wait for the next deploy. The mode sets the environment value that the runtime uses, for example NODE_ENV for a Node.js application. A framework reads that value to decide its own behavior, such as smaller assets in production mode, or detailed error output in development mode. If the system cannot recreate the container, it keeps the new mode and applies it at the next successful deploy. Actions now report when an application has no deploy yet The start, stop, restart, and Run mode actions require the application to finish a deploy first.
